Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada on 27 August 1976. Angie Chalke is her mother and Doug Chalke
are her father. She is the middle child of two sisters, the older one, Natasha
Chalke, one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut with City Boy
(1992), produced for television. Following her first film was a success, Sarah
auditioned for the role "Becky" from Roseanne (1988). The show was
seeking the replacement for Alicia Goranson, who left the show to pursue the college
of her choice. Sarah graduated from highschool in 1995, and was involved in the
production of Roseanne (1988), 1994-1995. Sarah also appeared with Jim Varney
(1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). She was in Robin of Locksley (1996) and
Stand against Fear(1996). In both films she played the part of Krista Wilson
who was a cheerleader. Sarah was invited to appear in the 1998 show Nothing Too
Good for a Cowboy. It was a year following Roseanne (1988). It was based on the
show the show Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (2000), Sarah also appeared in the
show. Sarah replaced Becky's (1988) role from Alicia Goranson. She stated that
she would like to leave acting and go to college. [2001] (1993-1997) Played
younger sister to Sara Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) although she's younger in
real life. She attended the 1999 CCMA award ceremony, and presented an award
for the best single of the year. (September 1999) At the age of eight, she
appeared in Vancouver theatre productions. A native speaker of French, German
and Spanish. She volunteers at an organization that provides care for patients
who are dying. Chalke enjoys cooking with her friends (especially Thai or
sushi) she also plays the guitar and hike, ski (she's an instructor), and
kayaking. Her father is a lawyer and her parents are mediators. They also own
an agency for adoption of children. Her parents took her to China in order to
coordinate the adoptions of multiple orphans.
