Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who worked previously as an anchor for television at ABC News. Her roles as
co-anchor for Good Morning America Weekend (2014-2018) and co-host of The View
(2015-2018) are very well-known. In the past, she anchors World News Now and
America This Morning. After graduating, she worked in several
communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James
Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the limited opportunities on TV, she
worked in sales for radio. After a few years of working as a production
assistant with WKEF/WRGT, she was eventually capable of reporting and anchoring
occasionally. She was the weekend and weekday sports anchors for WCPO TV,
Cincinnati, from 2002 until 2005. The contract was canceled and she was hired
as a reporter and anchor for NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV, Chicago, from November 2005
to December 2011. In December 2011 she was recruited by ABC News the division
for news of ABC. On January 2, 2012, she made her debut on the network's World
News Now and America This Morning. She was also on Good Morning America's
fill-in programme, Good Morning America, from January 2, 2012. In the following
years, she was made a New York-based correspondent for every ABC News programs.
Her final episode of World News Now and America This Morning was on January 22,
2013. On September 9, 2014, she debuted as co-anchor on Good Morning America
Weekend, following the departure of Bianna Golodryga. The latter was
transferred to Yahoo! News. On August 25, 2015 ABC announced that she was
joining The View as a co-host for season 19. On August 3 on the 3rd of August,
2016 the show announced they had renewed her contract for the twentieth season.
She was also renewed as co-host for Season 21. She was most visible in the 22nd
and 21st seasons on the series.
